Thanks to my drawing teacher, I learned how to do the eyes today! The picture isn’t great – will try to get a better photo tomorrow and update this post – but was too excited with the results to delay the post. Also worked on the values to start getting the complicated patterns laid in.

I know for people portraits you are supposed to make the eyes halfway down the face. Is there a formula for dogs’ eyes placement??

Not sure if there is a formula for the placement, especially when the viewing angle is so variable and dogs tend not to be at our eye level. But that’s just pure speculation on my part. I’ll have to find out b/c it would be another helpful trick for the drawing arsenal.
